Arvind Kejriwal Visits Hanuman Temple and Rajghat a Day After Bail Release

Delhi:Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been granted bail by the Supreme Court in connection with the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) corruption case linked to the alleged excise policy scam. This decision came after Kejriwal’s nearly six-month stint in custody.
On Friday morning, Kejriwal walked out of Tihar Jail following a significant legal victory. In a heartfelt address to his supporters from the sunroof of his vehicle, he vowed to continue his fight against what he described as “anti-national forces” that aim to weaken the country. “Prisons cannot weaken me; my morale is now higher than ever,” Kejriwal declared. He expressed gratitude to his supporters for their steadfastness, emphasizing that “every drop of my blood is dedicated to the service of my nation.”
Earlier in the day, Kejriwal visited the Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place to seek blessings and thank God for his release. He had announced his visit via a post on social media, stating, “Today at 12 noon, I will go to Hanuman Temple at Connaught Place to thank God and seek his blessings.”
Kejriwal’s legal troubles began on March 21, when he was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case related to the now-scrapped excise policy. His arrest was followed by the CBI’s involvement, with formal charges brought against him on June 26. The Supreme Court had previously granted him interim bail in the ED case on July 12. As of now, Kejriwal remains in judicial custody in the CBI case, though most of the 40 accused in the matter have been released. Only businessman Amandeep Singh Dhall remains incarcerated.
The Supreme Court’s decision to grant bail was not unanimous. Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice Kant both agreed on the bail, but Justice Bhuyan expressed concerns that the CBI’s arrest was intended to “frustrate bail” previously granted in the ED case.
As Kejriwal resumes his duties, his return to public life and his statements to supporters suggest a renewed commitment to his political and personal causes.
