Indian Opener Shikhar Dhawan Retires from International and Domestic Cricket.

New Delhi,India’s veteran opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan has announced his retirement from both international and domestic cricket on Saturday. The 38-year-old cricketer shared his retirement announcement through a video posted on Instagram.
In the video posted on his official Instagram handle, Dhawan said, "I am at a point where when I look back, I see only memories and a new life ahead. Playing for India was always my dream, and I had the chance to live it. I am very grateful to many people for this. First, my family, my childhood coach, and then my team with whom I played for so many years. I received a new family, fame, and love. But it is said that to move forward, you need to turn the pages."
He continued, "I am announcing my retirement from international and domestic cricket. As I bid farewell to my cricketing journey, I feel peace in my heart. I have played a lot for my country. I tell myself not to be sad about not playing for the country again, but to be happy that I had the opportunity to do so."
Throughout his illustrious career, Dhawan represented India across all formats, with One Day Internationals (ODIs) being his preferred format. In 167 ODIs, the left-handed batsman delivered outstanding performances, scoring 6,793 runs at an average of 44.1, including 17 centuries and 39 half-centuries.
In Test cricket, Dhawan formed memorable partnerships with Murali Vijay and accumulated 2,315 runs in 34 matches at an average of 40.6, including seven centuries and five half-centuries.
In the T20 International (T20I) format, Dhawan played 68 matches, scoring 1,759 runs at an average of 27.9, with 11 half-centuries.
In the domestic circuit, Dhawan played 122 first-class matches, amassing 8,499 runs at an average of 44.26, including 25 centuries and 29 half-centuries. In List A cricket, he featured in 302 matches, scoring 12,074 runs at an average of 43.90, highlighted by 30 centuries and 67 half-centuries.
