India's First Vande Metro Train Launched Between Ahmedabad and Bhuj
Ahmedabad:India's first Vande Metro train is all set to operate between Ahmedabad and Bhuj, aimed at enhancing the travel experience for passengers. This modern and advanced train service is not only expected to improve travel convenience but also promote economic development, create new job opportunities in the Kutch region, and boost local tourism.
Indigenous Technology and Modern Features:
According to a press release issued by Western Railway's Chief Public Relations Officer, Mr. Vineet Abhishek, the Vande Metro train is developed using indigenous technology. The train is equipped with 12 air-conditioned coaches, featuring state-of-the-art amenities such as centrally controlled automatic sliding doors, modular interiors, continuous LED lighting, toilets with vacuum evacuation facilities, route map indicators, panoramic windows, CCTV surveillance, phone charging points, and an automatic smoke/fire detection system with an aerosol-based fire suppression system. The train is capable of running at a speed of up to 110 km/h, making the journey not only comfortable but also fast.
Vande Metro Operational Schedule:
The Vande Metro train will operate as train number 94801/94802 on the Ahmedabad-Bhuj route. Train number 94801, Ahmedabad-Bhuj Vande Metro, will start its service from September 17, 2024. It will depart from Ahmedabad at 5:30 PM every day except Saturday and will arrive in Bhuj at 11:10 PM on the same day. Similarly, train number 94802, Bhuj-Ahmedabad Vande Metro, will commence operations from September 18, 2024. It will leave Bhuj at 5:05 AM every day except Sunday and will reach Ahmedabad at 10:50 AM on the same day.
Route and Stops: In both directions, the Vande Metro train will stop at Sabarmati, Chandlodiya, Viramgam, Dhrangadhra, Halvad, Samakhiali, Bhachau, Gandhidham, and Anjar stations. This will directly benefit passengers traveling across these regions.
