Israel's Airstrike on Hezbollah in Lebanon, 500 Dead, Bombs Still Falling

Beirut : Israel has launched the largest airstrike against the Iran-backed terrorist group Hezbollah since 2006 in Lebanon. Israeli fighter jets are still dropping bombs in southern Lebanon. The airstrikes have resulted in at least 500 deaths and over 1,600 injuries. Notably, Hezbollah terrorists are supporting Hamas in the ongoing Gaza war.
According to a report by The New York Times, citing Lebanon's Ministry of Health, the Israeli airstrikes against Hezbollah have killed nearly 500 people, including dozens of women and children, and injured over 1,600 citizens. The entire country of Lebanon is shaken by the attacks. Previously, Israel had destroyed Hezbollah's communication networks (pagers and walkie-talkies). A bombing incident in Lebanon involving pagers and walkie-talkies has claimed 37 lives.
Hezbollah's terrorists are on the border: Reports indicate that Israel has so far failed to force Hezbollah to retreat from the Lebanon-Israel border. Hezbollah has stated that it will continue to attack Israel until a ceasefire agreement is reached between Israel and Hamas, its ally in Gaza.
Thousands of families displaced: According to Lebanon's Health Minister, the latest attacks have displaced thousands of families. Israel has also targeted ambulances and fire trucks. Meanwhile, Israeli forces attacked a school building in central Gaza, where displaced Palestinians are residing.
Bombing at 1,600 locations in Lebanon: Israeli security forces stated in a morning report that the air force attacked around 1,600 Hezbollah positions in Lebanon on Monday. The attacks are ongoing. Israel has intercepted nearly 165 rockets from Lebanon using its anti-missile defense system.
U.S. Response: The Pentagon announced that it would send American troops to the Middle East for the safety of thousands of Americans residing in Lebanon.
France's Response: French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot has called for an emergency meeting of the Security Council regarding the situation in Lebanon. Attacks from both sides should cease immediately.
