MoUs signed in presence of Dy CM Devendra Fadnavis
Mumbai: Aimed at zero carbon emission by 2070, the Maharashtra Government is heading towards renovation of the power generation system by 50 percent by 2030.An MoU (memorandum of Understanding) worth ₹47,500 crore was signed between the Government and four companies for green energy generation at Sahyadri Guest House on Friday in the presence Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The MoU would generate 18,828 jobs, Fadnavis said. Assuring all possible help to the companies, Fadnavis said the companies should complete the projects at a faster pace.
MaharashtraElectricity Generation Company’s CMD Dr P Anbalagan, CMD of Transmission Company Dr Sanjiv Kumar, Distribution Company’s Vishwas Pathak, and Joint Secretary of Energy Department Narayan Karad were present.

Power Development and Consultancy would work on providing basic infrastructure for renewable energy projects, coordinate with other agencies, and initially start a hybrid power generation of 500 MW. The project with an investment of ₹3,000
crore would generate 1,663 jobs.
THDCIL would work on 4,250 MW of renewable energy with the investment of ₹29,329. Atotal of 14,130 direct and indirect employment is expected to be generated.HPRGE-HPCLRenewable and Green Energy Limited Company would work at GTPS, Uran to develop 50 KTPA Green Hydrogen and its derivatives plant and import andexport facilities, Grid-connected and Off-Grid RE based power projectdevelopment and measures to supply the renewable energy to HPCL and otherconsumers round the clock.Thegreen hydrogen project would be developed with an investment of ₹12,000 crore.About 1,635 direct and indirect jobs will be created.
