RG Kar Incident - Shocking Revelations in CBI Report about Deliberate Low Light During Autopsy

Kolkata : Allegations of negligence during the autopsy have emerged following the death of a medical student at RG Kar Medical College Hospital. The CBI is conducting a thorough investigation into the matter. Statements from two doctors and a dom (traditional caretaker of the deceased) indicate that several critical procedures during the autopsy were flawed.

Sources say questions have also been raised about the standards of videography during the autopsy. Investigators claim that signs of injuries on the deceased's body were not clearly visible in the footage, leading to suspicions about whether this oversight was accidental or deliberate. If it was intentional, what could be the motive behind it?

The autopsy and examination were completed just one hour and ten minutes after sunset on August 9. According to reports, the autopsy was conducted between 6 PM and 7:10 PM. On that day, a total of eight autopsies were performed, seven of which were completed before sunset, while the victim's autopsy occurred after sunset.

According to sources, a doctor from the hospital told the CBI that he opposed conducting the autopsy in low light, but his objections were ignored. The low lighting conditions led to several important observations being overlooked.

CBI sources indicate that during the investigation, both doctors and the dom are responsible for identifying and documenting injury marks on the deceased's body. However, several lapses were revealed during the questioning of the dom in this case. Satisfactory answers regarding the stitching and other procedures of the body were also lacking.

An official related to the case stated on Wednesday that "irregularities were found in taking forensic samples in the seminar hall. A detailed examination of the autopsy report has also revealed suspicious circumstances." Questions have also been raised regarding the proper preservation of the body. Hospital officials claim there was no space in the mortuary that day, but investigators believe this cannot be a valid excuse in such a serious case.

Dr. Apurba Biswas, who was in charge of the autopsy, has been interrogated for more than 22 hours so far. He was called in again on Tuesday, and further questioning will occur if necessary.
