Salman Khan Receives Death Threat: ₹5 Crore Demand from Bishnoi Gang
Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is facing serious threats to his life, reportedly from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which has demanded ₹5 crore to "end the enmity." A threatening WhatsApp message, sent to the Mumbai Traffic Police, warns that if the payment is not made, Khan's fate will be worse than that of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, who was recently murdered, allegedly by gang members.
The message stated, “Don’t take this lightly. If Salman Khan wants to stay alive and end the enmity with Lawrence Bishnoi, he must pay ₹5 crore. If the money is not given, his condition will be worse than Baba Siddique's.”
In response to the alarming threat, Mumbai Police have intensified security around Khan's residence in Bandra and are working to trace the origins of the message. The actor has remained on high alert due to previous threats, making this latest development particularly concerning for his safety.
On the previous day, Navi Mumbai Police apprehended a key gang member, Sukha alias Sukhbir Balbir Singh, in Haryana’s Panipat. Singh is reportedly linked to a plot to assassinate Khan and had contracted other gang members to execute the attack.
Sources indicate that Singh was in direct communication with his handler, Dogar, a Pakistani national, to coordinate the planned hit. The gang had allegedly planned to use high-powered firearms, including AK-47s and M16s, smuggled from Pakistan.
Singh’s arrest is part of an ongoing investigation into the Bishnoi gang’s conspiracy against Khan. Earlier this year, Navi Mumbai Police registered an FIR against 18 individuals associated with the gang for plotting to kill the actor. This action followed a shocking incident where gang members fired shots outside Khan’s Bandra home.
Notable figures among the accused include Lawrence Bishnoi, his brother Anmol, and other notorious members linked to organized crime across North India. Their brazen threats and violent actions have made them infamous.
The investigation has uncovered unsettling details about the gang’s activities, revealing that they deployed between 60 to 70 operatives to surveil Khan. These operatives monitored his movements at various locations, including his Bandra residence and Panvel farmhouse, even attempting to recruit minors as sharpshooters.
This is not the first time Khan has been targeted by the Bishnoi gang. In 2022, a threatening letter was found near his residence, and in March 2023, he received an email threat from gang members. Earlier this year, two individuals attempted to trespass into Khan’s Panvel farmhouse using fake identities, prompting the actor to bolster security measures.
Khan’s long-standing feud with Lawrence Bishnoi is rooted in the gangster’s grudge over Khan’s alleged involvement in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, a matter of great significance to the Bishnoi community, which reveres the blackbuck.
The situation remains tense as law enforcement agencies continue their investigations and work to ensure the actor's safety.
